The iSet™ Electro-Hydraulic plug, packer and stradle Setting Tool addresses the common limitations of both explosive and hydrostatic setting tools. Because it is electro-hydraulic it ensures higher levels of safety than ballistic-activated devices—making it easier to mobilize—while delivering equivalent setting times. Unlike traditional hydro static setting tools which are limited by the actual hydrostatic pressure of the well—meaning shallow-depth or low-pressure gas well operations require additional pressurized modules—the iSet tool delivers an equivalent setting force and is not limited by well environment conditions.

For memory operation on slickline, the tool is powered by commercially-available alkaline batteries, removing the logistics challenges associated with lithium battery-powered tools.

Operation of the tool is made easy using Probe’s patent-pending Cyclops Touch interface which removes the requirement to disassemble the tool after each run and also eliminates the need for a separate laptop to validate settings. Once the tool is recovered at surface, it is reset using the rapid-reset feature and is ready for operation within seconds. 

Each tool can be operated up to 50 times before recommended maintenance. A complete set of new electronic modules are replaced with each scheduled maintenance, a procedure that can be done in the field.
